Here you will take a scenic walk to the summit of the island and find a true natural wonder of the region, a secret of the great walks of Wanaka. On Mou Waho you will discover a lake on an island on a lake and great preserve of nature.
At the lake on the island of Mou Waho you will have the chance to view some of New Zealand’s indigenous and rare bird life, including the Weka, Bellbird and wood pigeon. For those who want to help on the journey towards regrowth of native plant life there will also be the opportunity to plant New Zealand trees. A chance to leave a lasting legacy of your eco tours in Otago region.
After lunching in one of Lake Wanaka’s great food spots, the tour will take you on a 4 wheel drive (4WD) tour up the famous Matukituki valley and onto private, back country sheep and cattle stations to enjoy a leisurely stroll through alpine meadows and ancient forests.
